Big Mouth will come to an end after eight seasons, Netflix has confirmed. In a surprise announcement, the beloved sitcom – which premiered in 2017 – has been renewed for its eighth and final season, which is scheduled for 2024. Additionally, fans will say goodbye to the show's spin-off, Human Resources, which will conclude after its second season.
Speaking about the decision, Billy Wee, Netflix's director of adult animation explained: "Big Mouth is a towering achievement in animated comedy that will make Netflix history for its longevity. We are thrilled that we still have two more hilarious seasons [seasons seven and eight] to share with fans before this brilliant coming-of-age story reaches its conclusion."

One of Big Mouth's co-creators, Nick Kroll, has also reflected on the news. "If you would have told adolescent Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg that middle school would take eight years to finish, they would have been like 'yeah, that sounds about right. this seems like it will never end'."
Following the news, fans have taken to Twitter to voice their disappointment. "Sad to hear that 'BIG MOUTH' will be ending with Season 8 on Netflix. It's been a hilarious and boundary-pushing show that has tackled important topics with humor and heart. Looking forward to enjoying the final season!" wrote one.
"#BigMouth ending with season 8 next year and #HumanResources ending with only TWO seasons, coming out THIS year is breaking my [expletive] heart," added another.
Based on Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg's upbringing in suburban New York, Big Mouth follows a group of adolescents as they navigate puberty with the help of 'Hormone Monsters'. As well as Nick Kroll, the series stars John Mulaney, Jessi Klein, Jason Mantzoukas and Jenny Slate. Meanwhile, the spinoff series, Human Resources, centres around the workplace of the Hormone Monsters. Among the cast are Aidy Bryant, Randall Park, Keke Palmer and David Thewlis.
