BRITs 2024: Kylie Minogue closes BRITs out as RAYE left in tears following record-breaking night

It was a record-breaking night for RAYE, and this years BRITs featured stunning performance after stunning performance. Be it Kylie's Global Icon set list, Dua Lipa's sultry opener, or Tate McRae's Greedy, we had a blast.

And who can forget Jonathan Bailey handing out an award, or Roman Kemp and Kylie doing a 'shoey'. I'm sure you didn't miss the moment, but if you did, catch it here below...

And to prove just what an icon is, Kylie sang a mash-up of some of her great hits from Padam Padam, to Just Can't Get You Out of my Head, to Love at First Sight and finally All the Lovers.

And like the Kylie stan I am, I knew every word and every move.

Kylie Minogue has been a global icon for decades, and the singer was finally recongised with the Global Icon Award from the BRITs. The singer has nine no 1. albums in the UK, and be honest, you still don't have Padam Padam out of your head. I know I certainly don't!

The emotions of the night got to RAYE and in a tearful speech she joked she was "ugly crying" as she thanked her grandmother for her full support during her career. As we've said, it's been a record-breaking night for the young singer who has picked up five awards on the night, plus a sixth before the ceremony even began.

Tonight was truly RAYE's night, with the singer claiming her fifth award of the night, for a record-breaking win, as she picked up Album of the Year to finish off her night.

Even though Rema didn't win the BRIT for Best International Song with Calm Down, the Nigerian singer was soon on stage to perform it, and judging by the reaction, fans were in love with the song.

Our dream combination of Bimini Bon Boulash and Rob Beckett were the next hosts and Bimini even made a heartfelt dedication to the trans and non-binary communities.

Miley Cyrus's stunning hit Flowers was the winner and the global megastar thanked audiences remotely for the win.

After we finally tore our eyes away from Jonathan, it was time for Artist of the Year and it was RAYE who took home the award, and she made BRITs history by winning four awards in one night.

Jonathan Bailey is here to present an award, and that alone justifies a post.

Fresh off their win, Chase & Status were then on hand to perform alongside Becky Hill with Disconnect. The drum and bass anthem switched up the mood following a more personal ballad from RAYE and we couldn't help but move along as well. 

Ivan Toney might have had a small stumble as he headed to award Best Producer alongside BBC Radio star Vick Hope, but it was smiles all around when Chase & Status took the award home.

RAYE is turning into the star of the night with three awards under her belt, and another three still potentially hers to win. So, midway when she performed, the singer mixed things up with a haunting performance before effortlessly swapping with a performance that wouldn't be out of place in a Swingin' Sixties bar.

Are we ready for the afterparty? Jack Saunders and Yinka Bokinni, who will be hosting the official afterparty were on hand to present Best International Act, and the winner this year was boygenius. The group accepted their award with a video message

RAYE lost her first nomination of the night, but it was Dua Lipa who won her second BRIT as Best Pop Act. And given the stellar year she's had, especially with the Barbie soundstrack, we're so glad she won the award.

As we sit through an ad break, relive Dua's opening performance following her first win of the night.

What a night it's turning out to be, and in the latest award, Cass Is Dead took home Best Rap/Grime/Hip-Hop.

Alison Oliver and Charli XCX teamed up in the duo we never knew we needed for Best Dance, and it was Scottish DJ Calvin Harris who took home the award. Despite an illustrious career, this is only his third BRIT award.

We can always count on a surprise at the BRITs, and we got that when Stranger Things alum Joe Keery showed up to present an award. The dreamy American actor handed out Best New Artist, and it was RAYE who scooped it. "What is happening right now, because I don't understand?" the singer questioned as she picked up the gong.

Tate McRae was stunning for her performance of Greedy, and the Canadian superstar performed following Best International Star, what good timing!

Joanne Froggatt, best known for her role in Downton Abbey handed out International Star, and despite strong competition, it was SZA who took the award home. Sadly, the singer wasn't on hand to pick up the award, but in a video message, she shared her thanks to those who voted for her.

Luke Evans and Marisa Abela named Bring Me The Horizon as the winners of Alternative / Rock, and it became the group's first BRIT award, although they had previously performed at the ceremony with Ed Sheeran.

Aitch and Jess Glynne were next on stage in order to hand out best R&B, and RAYE continued her dominance as the star scooped her second award of the year. What a night it's turning out to be for the 26-year-old.

It was the soundtrack of our summer, so of course we were raving in our seats when Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris performed Miracle. Ellie looked angellic in her daring white mini-dress and the dance scene on stage reminded us of all the sweaty nights in clubs we spent dancing to this hit!

Do you love a bit of Jungle? Well, Green Day certainly do and two of its biggest members were thrilled to award Jungle the Best Group at tonight's awards.

And it's the first award of the night! Presenting Best Song was a former postmistress and the woman who played her in the hit ITV show Mr Bates vs the Post Office.

There were several nominess, but it was RAYE's Escapsim that took the gong home, and the singer looked shocked to hear the news. This is already RAYE's second win of the week, as she won Best Songwriter ahead of the ceremony.

What a way to start! Dua Lipa got the crowd going with her hypnotic performance to her latest hit Training Season, and she commanded all the attention in her sultry leather look and her even sultrier vocals.
