Doctor Who power couple David Tennant and Billie Piper are returning for a brand new series of adventures together. The popular duo are teaming up to record three audio plays from Big Finish productions, in Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Adventures – Volume 2. It will be the first time David and Billie have worked together on Doctor Who since the 50th anniversary TV special, The Day of the Doctor, in 2013, and the first time Billie has appeared at the Doctor's regular companion Rose Tyler since the 2006 episode, Doomsday.

For Volume 1 of The Tenth Doctor Adventures, David worked alongside Catherine Tate – in character as Donna Noble. The new episodes will also star Camille Coduri as Rose's mum Jackie, and Nicholas Briggs as Ice Warriors Lord Hasskor and Warrior Slaan. "We were thrilled by the response to the first volume," producer David Richardson said. "David Tennant and Catherine Tate were on fantastic form, and it's so exciting to reunite David with Billie Piper, playing the Doctor and Rose together again after nine years. Their time in the series transformed Doctor Who into a primetime and international hit, and we've worked very hard to live up to the incredible standards of Russell T Davies."

David Tennant and Billie Piper are reuniting for a series of Doctor Who audio episodes

Billie, 34, and David, 46, will appear together in three hour-long audio episodes, set for release in November 2017, Digital Spy reports. The first, titled Attack of the Zaross, features an alien invasion of earth, which isn't quite what it appears to be. The second adventure, Sword of the Chevalier, sees the Doctor and Rose arrive in Slough in 1971, where they encounter Chevalier D'Eon, an enigmatic ex-spy who has lived his life as a woman. Together, the trio must fend off alien slavers, who have come to earth to abduct valuable humans. In the final episode, Cold Vengeance, the TARDIS arrives on Coldstar, a vast, frozen asteroid, where the Doctor comes face-to-face with his old enemies, the Ice Warriors.
