She is one of the well-heeled, expertly-groomed stars of hit reality TV show Made In Chelsea, the third series of which is due to start airing in April. But Millie Mackintosh has a new starring role – playing a ‘femme fatale’ as she promotes Umberto Giannini’s new hair care range. The 22-year-old is smouldering as she acts out a series of flirtatious scenes for the online novella entitled The Incredible Body. HELLO! Online had the pleasure of chatting to the professional make-up artist, who divulged her beauty tips, secrets to staying in shape and gave us a hint of what's to come in the brand new series…
Did you enjoy the shoot? The character in this story was great fun to act. It felt really sexy to play the “femme fatale” role! I love the film noir, 1920’s feel to it all and think it captures the glamorous essence of the Incredible Body range perfectly. What are your beauty tips? I love Manuka Doctor’s skincare range - their Bee Venom Foam Cleanser is always part of my night-time skin regime. Another tip would be that less is more – I love a natural look. MAC do great base products and bronzers to contour the face and create this look. Is there a beauty product you couldn't live without? I love my hair to be glossy and bigger is better! It just looks so much sexier than straightened, flat boring hair. I swear by Umberto Giannini’s new Incredible Body Root Boost Volume Spray for Big Hair – just spray into roots, ruffle through with fingers for an instant volume injection. What is your beauty regime? Use overnight balms, serum treatments on your hair – you will wake up with super soft hair with minimal effort. Great for repairing split ends! Also always take your make up off before bed – even after a big night out! My mum always made me take my make up off and so she got me into good habits. She has always had fantastic skin so it’s a great incentive to see the results of taking care of it.
How do you stay in shape? Luckily, I am naturally slim because I really don’t like rigorous exercises like running or spinning! For health and body tone though I enjoy Pilates to shape up my stomach area and legs. I recently did a Pilates boot camp, which is different to normal Pilates because it is done using reformer machines which give a really effective toning work out. It does hurt but the gain is worth the pain! I would highly recommend it for anyone who isn’t motivated enough in the gym and wants to tone quickly www.bootcamppilates.com/
Are you enjoying filming the third series of Made In Chelsea? Yes it’s great to be back with everyone and there is lots to look forward to! It’s pretty tiring as we have a camera crew following us around all day everyday, but they are just filming our social lives so I wouldn’t say it’s really hard work. I can’t believe how popular the show is now by its third series – our fan-base is bigger than I could ever imagine. Can you give us any hints of what is to come? There will be a few new faces to follow... Is it tough to keep your skin looking healthy when you're filming? I don’t actually wear layers of make up, I swear by spray tans. I never use sun beds, spray tans look amazing if not better than a natural tan and the health risks aren’t worth it – who wants leathery skin in later life for the sake of a natural tan for a few weeks!? I like to look tanned all year round, so spray tans are an absolute must. Also staying hydrated is really important for your skin – it sounds obvious but drinking lots of water will give you a better glow than any facial! Do you have any future projects you're working on? Any ambitions? I would love to open up my own fashion boutique or start a vintage fashion label/brand, now that I have the opportunity, by possibly extending my blog (missmilliemakeup.co.uk). Also maybe develop some of my own beauty and skincare ranges. The online novella is available on www.incrediblebody.co.uk
