The tropical triumph of the Duchess and her tresses

September 14, 2012

We don't know how she has done it, but the Duchess of Cambridge has kept her wonderful waves as shining and tumbling as ever, even in the extremely humid conditions of South East Asia.Upon arrival in Singapore she showed off her signature curls with her favourite style, the classic Chelsea blow-dry.But Kate has also adhered to local custom, opting for a delicate chignon woven with pearls for the Diamond Jubilee tea party in Kuala Lumpur.

The pretty bun was adorned traditionally, as pins are often worn by women in Malaysia.

And on Friday she covered her brown locks with a gorgeous grey silk scarf to show respect on her visit to a mosque.

Although she always looks picture perfect, it seems she may have struggled to keep her smooth, glossy mane in place. It was only when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the greenhouses of Singapore Gardens that Kate began to look worried about her hair turning frizzy. Having been asked by a fan how she kept her hair so perfect, she reportedly replied that it would 'pouffe up soon enough.'

But for that brief moment surrounded by jets of steam, the Duchess has maintained her immaculate look, thanks to the help of her on-tour hair stylist, Amanda Cook Tucker.
