Get the look: behind the scenes with Amy Kelly at the National Television Awards

Coronation Street newcomer Amy Kelly looked right at home at the National Television Awards, looking every inch as glamorous as her small-screen co-stars. The budding actress and part-time composer, who wowed in a midnight blue dress from Coast, had her makeup done by Vital Creatives. Artist Caroline Shuttleworth helped Amy get the Taylor Swift look she was after.

How to get Amy's beauty look:

Step 1: Start by cleansing the skin with Bio Derma cleansing water to ensure the skin is clean and fresh. Moisturise using Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturiser to create a supple base ready for foundation.

Step 2: Apply Shu Uemura priming mousse to ensure the makeup stays fresh and in place all evening.

Step 3: Use Chanel Vitalumiere foundation all over the face using a fluffy brush to buff into the skin. Hide blemishes using Laura Mercier secret camouflage to create a flawless finish.

Step 4: Apply Bobbi Brown cream concealer under the eyes to cover any dark circles and set with Laura Mercier Secret Brightening powder.

Step 5: Brush through the eyebrows and add Elizabeth Arden brow powder over sparse areas to create a full shape.

Step 6: Wash Laura Mercier Alloy cream shadow all over the eyelid, blending at the edges. Use a small amount of Mac carbon eye shadow to the outer corners of the eye and blend outwards. 

Step 7: Use a Mac smoulder eye pencil along the lash line and smudge slightly to create a smoky look.

Step 8: To give fullness, add Eyelures individual lashes and coat with Benefits Bad Gal mascara.

Step 9: Apply Bobbi Brown natural bronzer on the cheeks to create a natural glow. Then add Benefits High Beam highlighter to the tops of the cheeks.

Step 10: Outline the lips using a Mac Subculture lip liner and use Shu Uemura 944 lipstick. To finish, add Dior 236 ultra gloss glow.

How to get Amy's hair, as revealed by Reuben Wood:

Step 1: Prep the hair with Kevin Murphy Anti-Gravity Spray and comb through.

Step 2: Section the hair from ear to ear and tie the bottom half into a low ponytail.

Step 3: Loosely tong the remaining top section of hair and the ponytail into soft waves.Step 4: Gently back-brush the ponytail and pin it into a loose bun.

Step 5: Pin the remaining hair from the front over to the bun and finish with Agadir Argan Oil spray and Kevin Murphy Session Spray.
