New mum Charlotte Casiraghi has added another modelling gig to her portfolio, having been announced as the new face of Gucci Cosmetics collection. Shot by renowned photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the ad campaign featuring the Monagesque royal will be out in September. "I have really enjoyed my relationship with Frida over these last four years and I am now excited to work with her again on this signature project," Charlotte said in a statement.
"I have great admiration for her both as a designer and a strong and visionary woman." Frida, meanwhile, explained her reasons for choosing Charlotte to front the campaign. "Charlotte was a natural choice as she embodies the modern iconic Gucci woman," she said. "Aside from her striking beauty, she is sophisticated, successful and iconic. A wonderful ambassador for Gucci."
Charlotte in a previous campaign for Gucci
Charlotte and Gucci have had a working relationship for many years now. They were brought together by their shared passion for horse-riding when Frida designed an exclusive equestrian wardrobe for the royal in 2010 to compete in the Global Champions Tour show jumping event. Charlotte has since starred in the Italian fashion brand's Forever Now ad campaign series. The 26-year-old is a new mum, having given birth to a baby boy earlier this year. The arrival of her little one, named Raphael, was announced by the president of the National Council, Laurent Nouvion, at a late meeting of the High Assembly. "The royal family has a new member," he said. Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco were the first visitors to congratulate Charlotte in Monaco's Princess Grace Hospital, in the same maternity ward where Charlotte herself was born. Charlotte's boyfriend Gad Elmaleh took to Twitter soon after the birth to thank fans for their messages of congratulations. "Thanks to everyone for you kind messages," he tweeted in French. "Very touched".
