Kim Kardashian has sparked speculation that she has cut her notoriously long wavy hair into a shorter style following a photo of the reality TV star on Instagram. Celebrity hairdresser Chris McMillan shared an image of Kim posing for the camera sporting what appears to be shorter, layered locks on his Instagram account. "#piecy," he simply captioned the photo.

Although Kim has yet to reveal whether she has actually opted for a new hairdo, or whether it's simply the angle of the camera, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star looks striking in the close-up photo as with her sleek hair styled loosely for a laidback chic effect. Either way, it is clear that when it comes to her hair, Kim trusts Chris, who she chose to style her hair for her wedding to rapper Kanye West in Florence earlier this year, as well as for the glamorous parties in the lead-up to the highly-anticipated nuptials. Kim would not be the first celebrity who has been given a layered hairstyle by Chris – the hairdresser famously created 'The Rachel' for Jennifer Aniston when she starred on hit sitcom Friends. The TV series is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month, so it could be Kim's way of paying tribute to the iconic show. Chris also recently chopped off The Hills star Kristin Cavallari's long blonde locks into a shoulder-length, layered bob. Kristin teased fans with a photo of her chopped off ponytail on Instagram, while she was at the hairstylist's salon in Beverley Hills. "This is happening right now," she captioned the photo. "Just chopped off my hair! @anderssonjj @mrchrismcmillan."
The 27-year-old debuted her new hairstyle later on the red carpet as she launched her new jewellery collection.
