The best beauty looks at the National Television Awards

January 22, 2015

The stars upped the fashion stakes on the National Television Awards on Wednesday night, however all eyes were also on their showstopping glamorous beauty looks. Celebrities such as Sheridan Smith, who won the award for Best Drama Performance, and Jacqueline Jossa chose a minimal make-up look with a hint of blusher for a fresh-faced complexion.

Minimal make-up with dramatic eyes was a key trend

Both stars chose to add some glamour to their looks with black eyeliner and a dramatic smokey eye style for the ultimate night-time look. Former Strictly Come Dancing and singer Pixie Lott also chose minimal make-up, however when it came to her eyes she chose a bronze eyeshadow and winged eyeliner to complement her elegant embellished gown.

A bold statement lip was a key red carpet trend for the evening

One of the other biggest beauty trends of the night was a statement lipstick. Fashionistas such as Rochelle Humes and Laura Whitmore opted for striking shades of red for bold yet glamorous looks, while Sam Faiers chose a bright coral colour to make a statement. Meanwhile, Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon opted for a dark burgundy colour for a dramatic yet chic look. Blonde beauties Tess Daly and Laura Whitmore also wowed on the red carpet, opting for old Hollywood-style curls. While Tess chose to wear her glossy locks down and sideswept, Laura chose a chic updo with a few loose strands for a striking laidback chic look.
