Brooklyn is renowned for her tumbling long blonde locks, so fans were surprised when she stepped out with a new short layered bob, inches above her shoulders. Just a few weeks ago, the Just Go With It actress had been rocking long, wavy hair for a glitzy night out, but it seems she has embraced the New Year and gone for a completely different look.

Brooklyn has been sharing photos of her new look on Instagram over the last few days, however it is the first time that she has debuted her look for an official appearance. The Ohio-born star kept the focus on her new look by keeping her make-up minimal.

When it came to fashion, Brooklyn showed off her model credentials in a laidback chic outfit consisting of a chic plaid cape paired with jeans and a cream jumper, adding edge to her ensemble with a pair of black ankle boots.

It appears that the bob has become one of the key hair trends of the season, with celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Sienna Miller all having opted for the chop.

The Hills star Lauren Conrad, famed for her glossy long blonde hair, surprised fans when she revealed on Instagram that she had cut her hair. The reality star clearly loved having shorter, returning to hairdresser Kristin Ess less than a week later to have even more inches of her hair trimmed off.
