Not only has Katy Perry blown fans away with her dazzling half-time performance at the NFL Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday, but she has once again conquered the beauty world by landing a major campaign. The 30-year-old pop diva is the new face of cosmetics giant Covergirl, and stars in a new advert for the brand.

The Firework singer is renowned for her fearless approach to beauty, often experimenting with bright hair colours, so it comes as no surprise that in the short clip she rocks a series of bold beauty looks, created by iconic make-up artist Pat McGrath. "In addition to music, I've always considered make-up to be a powerful creative avenue for self-expression for me," wrote Katy on the Covergirl website.

One of the looks sees Katy rocking a short pink cropped haircut, teamed with purple eyeshadow, turquoise eyeliner and yellow nails, staying true to her love of colour. Throughout the clip she is also shown sporting everything from a bright blue wavy bob to statement red lipsticks, purple hair and dramatic winged eyeliner. It's not the first time that the singer has worked with Covergirl – she made her debut for the brand in 2013, joining a line-up which includes Sofia Vergara, Ellen DeGeneres, P!nk and Queen Latifah.

"Singer, songwriter and actress Katy has blown up the pop scene and shows no sign of stopping," the brand wrote on their website. "In addition to being the first-ever female artist in history to product five number-one Billboard hits, she's also the newest member of the COVERGIRL family because she truly defines inner and outer beauty."

Katy is known for often changing her hair colour, sharing photos of her glossy locks on Instagram in an array of colours from 'slime green' to hot pink, which she joked was inspired by the Muppet Animal. Although she is a natural blonde, the American beauty usually sports black hair when she is not dyeing it bold colours.
