Millie Mackintosh's red carpet style secrets

May 18, 2015

Millie Mackintosh says she likes to Pinterest or Google the red carpet style of people she thinks "nail it. Girls like Rosie Huntington Whiteley and Lily Aldridge are always on my go-to list." Now in this week’s new edition she tells what went on when she invited HELLO! behind the scenes as she perfected her red carpet look for this year’s House of Fraser British Academy Television Awards in her role as St.Tropez’s red carpet ambassador. Here her glam squad share the secrets of her envious glow and stunning hair with HELLO! Online.

Millie’s skin - Jules Heptonstall - St.Tropez Tanning & Skin Finishing ExpertJules tells us: "Proper skin preparation is key before I start tanning so make sure everything is exfoliated. Millie is a huge fan of the St.Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Body Oil and Self Tan Luxe Facial Oil as they are both super hydrating and leave her skin sheer and glowing. I massaged both oils on to Millie's face and body to create a deep, luxurious bronzed look. You just apply the bottle on to the mitt and sweep it over the skin. Millie only needed one coat because she already had a base tan but to get Millie’s colour I would say use two coats. "To ensure she’s red carpet ready we used illuminators on top. The oil has shimmer in it but to create that red carpet glow, I used powder illuninators over the top. I also applied lots of moisturiser because no-one wants to look like they have dry skin on the red carpet."St.Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil, RRP £25.00 St.Tropez Self Tan Luxe Facial Oil, RRP £23.00 St.Tropez Applicator Mitt, RRP £5.00 Available from sttropeztan.co.uk, Boots and Boots.comHair - by Mark HillMark Hill tells us: "Millie wanted something timelessly classic to ensure she stood out from the crowd and nothing says it better than a sleek and sophisticated svelte do. To create this, I spritzed my Party the Night Away Firm Hold Hairspray (£6.29) all over Millie’s hair to keep it tight and add a slight wet look for a contemporary twist. Next I created a side parting and gathered hair in a tousled twist at the nape of her neck. Step three I finished off the look with subtle grips to secure the low bun and perfected with another spritz of hairspray to keep everything in place."
