Contouring has become one of the A-list's go-to beauty tricks, with celebrities such as Kim Kardashian repeatedly hailing it as the secret behind their radiant looks. However, model and rising star Emily Ratajkowski recently admitted that she isn't a fan of the beauty craze, and revealed the reason why she tries to avoid it.

Emily Ratajkowski has revealed she isn't "big on contouring"

"I'm not big on contouring," she told the New York Times. "My features are really out there already."

The 24-year-old actress revealed that when it comes to her make-up, she prefers the less-is-more approach to subtly enhance her natural beauty. "I have really big features," she said. "So a little make-up goes a long way."

Favouring a barely-there make-up look on and off the red carpet, Emily admitted that she does occasionally rock dramatic eyeliner if she wants to add a touch of glamour to her look. "If I have a meeting or need to look more done up, the thing I can always do is a cat eye," she added.

The Gone Girl actress also admitted that when it comes to skincare, she doesn't follow a strict regime.

The actress opened up about her beauty and fitness routines

"I have the same skincare routine morning and night, although I'm not one of those people who always uses the same products," she explained. "My skin changes with the weather. Right now I'm using Kiehl's Calendula Foaming Face Wash. Then I put on moisturiser. By Terry Cellularose Baume d'Eau is great."

It's not just Emily's beauty that turns heads wherever she goes – the actress, who stars alongside Zac Efron in upcoming film We Are Your Friends, is renowned for her enviably toned figure. However, she revealed that she tries not to focus too much on diet and exercise, preferring to just try to maintain a lifestyle that's healthy overall.

"For me, it’s about feeling good about what you eat. I do love turmeric and beet juices. It’s so L.A., you can’t avoid it. But I don’t have a trainer, and I don’t really go to the gym. I go on long walks and hikes with my girlfriends. That’s about it. I’m just not a crazy fitness person. I’m definitely an outlier in the industry."
