Known for sharing her workouts and exercise tips, fitness star Anna Victoria has amassed over a million followers on Instagram. And while most of her images are flawless, she is also keen to show her fans that social media can be misleading through candid posts.
Her latest is two pictures of herself side by side, showing her arms in different lightings. The first is “the best possible lighting” and the other is harsh, strip lighting that highlighted cellulite on her arm.
“Lighting. Is. Everything. 99% of pictures you see on social media are taken in the best possible lighting and that ain’t no accident,” Victoria wrote alongside the photos. “When I got into the elevator with the lighting on the right, I zoned in on the cellulite on the back of my arms.”
She added: “Yes, cellulite on your arms is a thing! I’ve had it since the beginning of my journey and while it’s lightened up since then, it’s still not totally gone… Because I’m human.”

The post garnered a lot of attention, with over 30,000 likes in just one day. Victoria acknowledged, alongside the snap, that although the appearance of cellulite can be reduced through “a healthy diet, regular exercise and proper water intake,” genetics also play a huge part.
“Seriously, girls, stop thinking you’re the only one with cellulite and that it’s some kind of disease,” she wrote. “Do I love the look of my arms on the right? No, but I don’t hate it or hate myself for it, either. And you shouldn’t, either.” We love this – social media needs more honesty of this kind!
