A true Hollywood icon, actress Angelina Jolie was recently announced as the face of Guerlain’s new perfume, Mon Guerlain. Though over the years she has brought about enormous changes as a human rights activist and wowed audiences with her skills as a film director, of all achievements, it is her children that she is most proud of. Chatting exclusively to HELLO!’s Nadine Baggott, the revered actress and mum-of-six revealed that it was "The sound of Zahara's laugh" that made her the happiest. Enthusing as she spoke of her 12-year-old daughter, she continued: "She is one of those people who laughs with her whole body. Completely open and full of joy." While speaking about her new role as the face of the French fashion house’s latest fragrance, the natural beauty also revealed that her busy schedule as a working mother has left little time for her to worry about her looks, describing her makeup regime as: "Low. Six kids and no time," and adding that her make-up staple was a good concealer.
Angelina is the new face of Guerlain's latest campaign
It was announced in January that Angelina had been snapped up by Guerlain to front their new campaign, and the Mr and Mrs Smith star was thrilled about the collaboration as she holds many fond memories of the brand. Angelina said she had hoped that it would smell subtly of Guerlain's powder, something her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who she tragically lost to cancer back in 2007, used to wear. She also described it as a scent which reminds her of some of her favourite childhood memories. "One of those special items – and I remember it because it seemed so elegant – was her Guerlain powder (Ladies in All Climates). I think it speaks of all women having those few special things that make them feel feminine. And so when I was a little girl, I would associate Guerlain with that," she reminisced.

Guerlain describes the scent – which is said to have been inspired by Angelina - as a "fragrance for women who defy categorisation, who embrace all that life brings and all sides of themselves, who are comfortable in their own skin and whose guiding spirit is to be true to themselves and to live a life of use to others." Shooting the fashion campaign in the South of France was something the 47-year-old enjoyed very much. "It felt natural. It is a region we love in my family and that we have a history with, and it is where Guerlain sources many of their ingredients, including the lavender in Mon Guerlain," she said.

Angelina is no stranger to embracing diversity, and when asked what defined femininity to her, she stated: "I think it is personal to every woman. So many women I know are so completely different from each other. My daughters are. There is no simple description. It is that mystery and diversity."
