Solange Knowles' beauty hero is a humble pot of Vaseline. The A-list singer can have her pick of high-end make-up and skin products, but finds it's petroleum jelly that she most needs when it comes to her beauty regime.
"Vaseline! I put it everywhere. On the eyelids, on the lips, as a moisturiser, knees and elbows. I put it everywhere," she enthused to stylecaster.com. And she's just as laidback when it comes to her go-to hair product, opting for coconut oil over pricier options.
"Right now I'm super low-maintenance with my hair," she shrugged. "Since I moved to New Orleans, I've started to just let my hair do what it does and when I'm performing, I get a lot more experimental. But when I'm at home in the creative process, it's coconut oil or nothing, if that.
"Stylistically, after creating this album (A Seat at the Table), I felt a lot lighter just as a human. That helped me to embrace lighter shades in hair so I've been slowly evolving in my hair colour as I've been evolving as a human."

However when she has to make a fashion choice, the 30-year-old will splash the cash. She's not afraid to show off her unique dress sense at red carpet events and recently divided opinion at the Met Gala in a Thom Browne padded jacket complete with a matching train, teamed with a white shirt and a Mark Cross bag.
She's also been known to rock Gucci, Opening Ceremony and hot new designer Kim Shui. "Style has to play a part in everything that we do," Solange mused when asked the difference between fashion and style. "It's the way we communicate who we are before we say a word."
