We’d all love to treat ourselves to weekly visits to the salon for a refreshing facial, right? Well it’s a resounding ‘yes’ from us here at HELLO! HQ, anyway. But for the majority of us, that just isn’t possible – not thanks to full-time jobs and budgets for a start… So naturally I was really excited to find out that Philips had a new 3-in-1 at-home facial brush, the VisaPure Advanced, that promises salon results in just five minutes. To properly discover the brush, I sat down with Japanese facial massage expert Chico Shigeta, who actually used her expertise to create the brush in collaboration with Philips.

What are its three uses? First up, deep gentle cleansing. I really feel that my face is properly cleansed and revitalised after using the brush for just one minute – it removes all make-up residue (which is really important for me as I often have to wear a lot of make-up for shooting), dead skin cells and dirt. It also improves the absorption of skincare products – you know, those expensive creams you regularly spend a week’s wage on? Yeah, we definitely want those to be absorbed.
Next up is its massage function. Make sure to watch the video above to see how Chico recommends using the massage attachment. It feels amazing - the rhythmic movements feel like 750 finger taps on your skin per minute and the brush is able to reach deeper layers of the skin, allowing the muscles to relax. After filming, Chico massaged half of my face, and there was a visible difference – a definite lifting effect!
Lastly, the VisaPure Advanced provides a boost of freshness for tired eyes. This attachment is cooling with ceramic coating and is very gentle on the thin and delicate skin around the eyes. Perfect to banish bags and puffy eyes – I love this attachment!
