Olivia Wilde has become a lot more conscious about beauty since becoming a mother. The 33-year-old actress has son Otis, three, and daughter Daisy, born last October, with her fiance Jason Sudeikis, and her children have made a big impact on all areas of her life – especially in the way she looks after herself.
"Since having kids, my relationship to health and beauty has become much more thoughtful," she told website Into the Gloss. "I used to slather anything on my skin and not care what it was made out of. I've always loved the decadence of beauty products, but at the point when I first started having children - when I was suddenly responsible for another living being - I became conscious of what I was putting on and in my body. I wish we would be more conscious when it's just for ourselves."
Olivia Wilde said she became more conscious of the products she was using after becoming a mum
The Rush star describes her skincare routine as a "ritual" that brings both emotional and physical comfort, with True Botanicals Clear Face Wash one of Olivia's hero products as it keeps her acne at bay. When it comes to cosmetics, the brunette beauty has an extremely laid-back approach and prefers minimal touches over going all out.
STORY: Olivia Wilde says most beauty products are toxic
"I don't obsess over beauty but I try to be kind to my skin. I plan on using it for another 60 years or so," she said. "I do enjoy how a bit of make-up can transform my mood. Whether I'm going to a meeting or a bar, I feel like a superhero changing in a phone booth. I don't strive for perfection, but I have gotten to know my face well enough that I don't need to spend lots of time on my make-up routine. I just have fun with it."
One tip which Olivia shared is to keep a spare toothbrush on hand to exfoliate and plump lips before adding colour. And to "amp" her look up for a night out the actress will add a slick of liquid eyeliner for depth and definition.
