With the change in season comes a whole new range of nail polish colours to check out. Manicure trends are heavy on jewel tones at the moment, with reds, greens and blues the pick of the crop. Here are some top shades to try.
Ruby reds: While nude or neutral varnishes are always stylish, now's the time to experiment with gorgeous reds. Selena Gomez tried out the look with a deep ruby manicure when she stepped out at the 2017 American Music Awards, with the vibrant colour popping against her black leather minidress. Sonia Hully, chief executive officer and founder of Nailberry, says ruby red hues are flattering on all skin tones and is great for adding depth and warmth to nails. "Deep blood reds like Nailberry's No Regrets and Noirberry are super popular," she said, adding that the polish looks particularly great on rounded, natural-shaped nails.

Emerald greens: If reds don't tickle your fancy, look to rich emerald green shades for a fashion-forward alternative. Greens like Essie's Going Incognito is an eye-catching hue with high-gloss finish, while Mavala's Nail Polish in Peacock Green delivers a metallic shine. For a bit more edge, Zoya's Nail Polish Sparkle Collection in Ivanka is a luxurious mermaid green with hints of emerald and gold glitter.
Shiny sapphires: There's something so chic about a navy blue polish, dark enough to exude confidence but not quite as heavy as a black or grey. Try this royal hue with OPI Nail Polish in Blue My Mind. This smooth polish is a rich blue with flecks of glistening shimmer to ensure your mani shines as bright as the stars. Or embrace the trend with China Glaze Nail Polish in Eyes Like Sapphire, a twilight dark blue with chip resistant formula and whimsical feel.
