They may have teams of helpers to keep them in tip-top shape, but like any engaged couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will want to look their best for their wedding on 19 May. From outfit fittings to hair trials, their days are bound to be jam-packed with getting themselves camera ready. Stuart Miles, the UK's leading ageing expert and founder of MilesYounger.com, exclusively tells HELLO! that now is the time Harry and Meghan should be putting in the work on beauty prep. He says: "It’s all in the preparation and by laying the foundations correctly they will both find that they shine effortlessly on what will be a happy but also a long and tiring day in front of the public and the world's media."

First up is skincare, says Stuart. No one wants a breakout on their wedding morning, but there are steps you can take to prevent this. Number one, don't have a facial too close to your wedding or you may aggravate your skin. He advises: "I would recommend for Meghan focussing on treatments that boost the collagen and help plump up your skin. She has a beautiful complexion already but the stress she will be under can cause changes and a disruption to the skin's normal turnover." He advises the Suits star to consult a dermatologist and says products containing hyaluronic acid and vitamin C will plump and repair her skin.

"Prince Harry, meanwhile, should experiment with a gradual tan moisturiser. This will add a little subtle colour to his face on the big day. I recommend this to all my bridegrooms; it’s easy to apply a few days before the wedding day and the subtle colour very gradually builds up until you are happy and it looks natural." He adds: "Harry’s skin colour against Meghan’s will have a tendency to look paler so a tiny boost will help this. Stuart also suggests a matifying lotion to control shine and sweat should the weather be warm."

When it comes to Meghan and Harry's wedding day hairstyles, it needs to look great and stay in place all day long, whatever the weather. "I would recommend Meghan to start taking a haircare supplement containing biotin as it will help strengthen and thicken the hair from the roots," Stuart advises. "These strong roots are the foundations of your hair and will help her hairdresser more easily apply lift and volume to the hair.

"Prince Harry needs to invest in some matt clay styling product that won’t end up looking greasy and weigh his fine hair down. It needs to last all day and anything too heavy like a wax may just end up looking a bit greasy. My advice for Harry’s style would be to let his hair grow out a little on top right now so that he can style it much shorter on the sides just before the big day. This will give the illusion of making Harry’s hair look thicker on top and also by cutting it much shorter at the sides, it will enhance his chiselled jaw line."

Stuart explains that pre-wedding eye care is super important for looking one's best. He recommends they both cut down on their salt 48 hours beforehand, as it encourages water retention under the eyes, causing puffiness. "Avoid putting any cream around or under the eyes 24 hours before the wedding," he says. "A light cooling gel or better still a cold compress to stimulate the lymphatic drainage works best to de-puff this area quickly.

"Meghan's facial exercises should also help the lymphatic drainage around the eyes and increase circulation. "She should be practicing these regularly in the few days leading up to the wedding."

That's not all. Stuart suggests both Harry and Meghan take vitamin B and C supplements to help sustain energy levels, reduce stress and promote a strong immune system and healthy skin. "For Meghan I also recommend evening primrose oil, it’s amazing for women’s skin health. For Prince Harry a milk thistle supplement will help detox his liver, which could have been under some strain what with the small matter of the stag night in the lead-up to the wedding and of course all of the celebrations to come!"

Finally there's teeth whitening to think about. "Meghan has the most beautiful white smile so it may be just a question for her to have a professional clean and polish," says Stuart. He points out that it's often the area men neglect and he can envisage Meghan taking Harry to the dentist for professional teeth whitening. "It’s one of the most impactful things a couple can do to their wedding day appearance and makes a big difference!"
