Kim Kardashian really did go all out with her epic golden goddess outfit at 2018's Met Ball – not only did she start her party prep ten days before the actual event, she also opted for a surprising (but genius) beauty accessory to take her look to the next level. As if her sequinned, perfectly tailored Versace gown wasn't enough, the reality star actually chose to wear gold contact lenses to complete her metallic look – though not everyone noticed as she walked the red carpet.
Kim's golden contacts made quite a statement
"This year at the Met, I wanted my glam to complement my 90s-inspired gold Versace dress," she wrote on her app. "We chose honey-coloured contacts that weren't too far off from my natural eye colour, just a bit brighter. We sometimes achieve this colour when I wear golden eyeliner and the lighting is right, but I wanted to really go for it on the red carpet."

The 'we', of course, refers to Kim's go-to makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic, who created her beauty look on the night – which featured a smokey winged-out liner, big false lashes and a brown-nude lip. The Keeping Up With The Kardashiansstar also shared the products used on the night – and unsurprisingly, they were mainly from her own beauty line.

Mario used 'Albanian' from the KKW X Mario eyeshadow palette as a crease colour for Kim's smokey eye, then the KKW x Argenis Crème Eyeshadow Stick in 'Dramatico' to smudge along the lashline and to the outer corners. Kim K just isn't Kim K without a contour, of course, so he also sculpted her cheekbones using the KKW Crème Contour Sticks. Kim's throwback nineties lip look was created first with a brown lip liner, followed by the KKW x Mario lipstick in 'Classic K'.
