Love Island's Samira Mighty controversy: cosmetic doctor confirms she has not had lip fillers

There were reports circulating that she had enhanced her lips

Love Island's Samira Mighty has been the subject of plastic surgery reports, much like her fellow contestants, despite the fact she confirmed before entering the villa that she had had no cosmetic enhancements. And fans of the show were particularly disappointed when she was rumoured to have had lip fillers to create that gorgeous pout of hers - as an Afro Caribbean woman, Samira's fuller lips are down to her heritage, not injectables, as confirmed to HELLO! by cosmetic doctor Dr Tijion Esho of the ESHO Clinic.

Viewers were outraged at the suggestion Samira had enhanced her lips

"What people need to realise is Samira is of Afro Caribbean heritage - we were born with large lips before large lips became fashionable," he says. "I get asked the same question by patients about my lips –'how much filler do you have Dr Esho?' - and I just say none, it’s DNA."

"Samira's lips are definitely natural," he adds. "This is classical of her ethnic heritage – full and defined with a close 1:1 ratio in the size of the bottom to top lip."

The news comes after HELLO! uncovered exclusive photographs of Samira's fellow contestant, Megan Barton-Hanson, before her dramatic £25k plastic surgery transformation, as well as details of Ellie Brown's previous procedures.

A close pal revealed to HELLO! that Islander Megan had her first cosmetic procedure at 14 years old - visiting the plastic surgeon to pin back her ears while she was still at school. Following this, the reality star has also had a rhinoplasty, lip filler and a breast augmentation as she approached her 20th birthday.

Ellie, meanwhile, had a variety of procedures before she entered the villa. Dr Esho, who is her surgeon, gave Ellie dermal fillers in her lips and cheekbones, and a course of Dermapen facials. She has also had a rhinoplasty, costing around £7k.
