Old-time glamour and Hollywood waves rule at the Golden Globes

January 14, 2013

Flowing Hollywood waves made a comeback in their hometown of Los Angeles on Sunday night with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba and Megan Fox sporting the hairstyle for the 70th Annual Golden Globes awards. Latino stars Jennifer and Jessica brought warmth to their luxurious brunette tresses with honey-tinted highlights and kept their hair swept to the side for a feel of old-time glamour.

Whilst the Jenny from the Block singer shone with her statement style shimmering smokey eye and glossy pout, Jessica opted instead for an injection of post-winter colour with an immaculate coat of matte coral to her lips and simple eye makeup. The 31-year-old actress struck a balance by matching her bright lipstick to the peach Oscar de la Renta gown she wore to the awards show, topping off the look with standout jewels by Harry Winston. Actress Megan Fox similarly impressed on the red-carpet with glossy, bouncy waves that tumbled over one-shoulder. Looking as smouldering and sultry as ever, the 26-year-old kept her Hollywood look classic with groomed brows, defined lashes and a plump peachy pout.

After Megan recently attended the photocall of her newest movie, This is 40, the Golden Globes presented itself as another fantastic oppourtunity to show off her incredible post-baby body. The young mum who gave birth to her son, Noah, in September 2012 grabbed the attention of cameras in a strapless figure-hugging gown by Dolce & Gabbana. the gown was reportedly picked out by her husband, Brian Austin Green, who also attended the event.Impeccably demure up'dos also stood out as a firm favourite among the stars of the evening, including British actress Emily Blunt, whose simple top bun brought out the most in her facial features.

A classic English rose, the Five-Year Engagment actress completed her chic do with flattering taupe eyeshadow and a pretty pink lip that complemented her choice of ornate fuschia earrings for the evening. Allison Williams showed that her simple chignon was a winning choice as she rose to receive the award for Best TV Series, Musical or Comedy alongside actress and screenplay writer, Lena Dunaham, for her part in the hit US sitcom Girls.
