Michelle, 32, styled her new punk inspired style with a more demure outfit, teaming the look with a sheer black polka dots shirt, smart white blazer and accessorised with a black clutch.Although Michelle, who is renowned for her cropped blonde locks, recently said she was "ready" to grow her hair out again, she looked more than happy at the event with the shorn, youthful look.Since taking the chop with her eponymous pixie cut six years ago this is the first time Michelle has embraced a bold new look and could mark a fresh start in the star's personal life. In the past, the mum-of-one has also said she kept her hair short in homage to her relationship with the late actor Heath Ledger who is also father to her child Matilda, 7."I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it," she said in 2011.

Fun and fresh, this asymmetrical hairstyle is a smart move for any short-haired girl making the transition to longer tresses. Although she may now decide to keep her hair cropped after the success of her newest style transformation, Michelle has spoken about the difficulties in styling mid-length hair which is growing out.

"The mid-stage is insufferable. It's really hard on your self-esteem," she added when speaking about growing her hair long to E! News.
