Jennifer Lawrence turned heads this weekend as she stepped out at the GLAAD media awards sporting a fresh new haircut and honey-coloured highlights. The Oscar winner cut off her long brunette locks to show off a spring-inspired shoulder length cut, teamed her new look with a David Koma dress and Nicholas Kirkwood shoes at the swanky bash in Los Angeles.
Keeping the choppy bob looking effortless, Jennifer's layers were teased into loose curls with a slight side-swept fringe.Jennifer, 22, who has recently won an Academy Award for her performance in the Silver Linings Playbook, has also spent the early months of 2013 experimenting with her hair colour.
From dusky blonde to a copper tinted brunette, it seems that the star has found the perfect balance with Avon’s haircolourist Lorri Goddard, who was responsible for the honey-coloured highlights in Jennifer's new bob cut.Just hours before the event the man responsible for the chop, Mark Townsend gave a sneak peak of his latest masterpiece, saying "New haircut for the fearless Jennifer Lawrence!"
Jennifer's hairstylist also tweeted enthusiastically about the star's new 'do, stating that "Spring is [the season] for layers". Explaining this theory to Harpars Bazaar, Mark added that a shorter and choppier cut like Jennifer's was easy to maintain in the warm weather: "She doesn't have to worry about keeping frizz down. She can just rock her natural texture".The Los Angeles hairdresser added: "As I cut, I lost track of how many times she said 'I love it!' She was super excited. It's the shortest her hair has been her whole life."
