Get the look: Kim Sears's hair

July 10, 2013

Smooth and sleek, Kim Sears's hair has been the envy of women for weeks.

While Andy Murray's win at Wimbledon marked the pinnacle of British tennis, Kim Sear's do marked a new high for hair.As temperatures reached close to 40°C on Centre Court on Sunday, HELLO! Online asked the experts – how does she do it?

WashKim usually wears her hair down and in loose curls. This is best achieved with smooth, clean locks that are light and airy and easy to style.Clive Lever, of Jo Hansford's Mayfair salon, recommends a frizz-reducing shampoo and conditioner such as John Frieda's Frizz Ease range (from £5.50 at Boots) to achieve this look. It reduces frizz while adding volume, which is perfect for taming unruly hair.DryKim's secret? It’s all down to natural thickness, apparently. For those of us who are less blessed with hair body, a blow dry goes a long way. When Kim doesn't do her hair at home, she usually gets it styled at her local Dwight Isaacs salon in Surrey. Nicky Clarke and Daniel Galvin's apprentice – Dwight has also cut Andy's hair in the past.A blowdry starts at £45 and a cut and finish comes at £77.

StyleRain or shine, Kim never fails to create a smooth and shiny look.Clive Lever recommends an oil for a finishing shine, such as Jo Hansford's Illuminoil (from £12, www.johansford.com) to tame flyaway hairs. It's likely Kim also uses a dry oil micromist - experts recommend Kendi Dry Oil Micromist (£21.95,www.alternahaircare.com) which adds strength, suppleness and a longer lasting shine to hair. "Kim's hair doesn't look naturally frizzy, but it looks like the type that takes on a bit of a wave if left to its own devices,’ says Clive.Kim may have also had a treatment to make her hair appear straighter. Keratin can be sealed into the hair with a hot iron to achieve this look. Prices start around £300.ColourKim's honeycomb locks look naturally beautiful. You can achieve her effortless colour with balayage, a French technique that sees the bleach hand-painted through the hair instead of using foils.Prices range from £100 for half a head to £190 for a full head but the result is so natural-looking you'll never go back. Balayage creates a more sun-kissed colour than block colouring and is lighter towards the ends.

It's also a very low-maintenance dye that only needs retouching two to three times a year.
