Kim has sparked a rise in sales of toning shampoo
So big is the 'Kim effect' that the brand have sold over three times the usual amount of the specially designed shampoo and conditioner that rids blonde hair of brassy, yellow tones, with a reported 312 per cent increase in their sales since Thursday. John Vial, creative director of Fudge Professional, comments: "There are only certain celebrities who can inspire such a huge movement in the beauty world and Kim Kardashian is one of the biggest players in the field.
It's hard out here for a platinum pimp! Thank you @FredericMennetrier for touching up my blonde!
"Kim's platinum look is very high fashion but with high fashion comes high maintenance – she's only been sporting the look for less than a week and she's already had to visit the salon several times to get her roots retouched and colour-toned. Charles Worthington salon have also reported a surge in the number of women booking in for colour consultations after being inundated with requests for platinum styles, with customers citing Kim as the inspiration. Marc Trinder, art team director at Charles Worthington Salons, said: "We've already had so many calls from people who are desperate to copy Kim’s look. We’ve seen a huge spike in the number of people booking in for consultations with our colour experts, particularly darker brunettes who are looking for a complete colour overhaul rather than blondes who just want to go a few shades lighter – Kim seems to have inspired a new found colour confidence in many women! "It’s important that any brunettes wanting to go platinum do speak to their stylist first though as this certainly isn’t a look you should be trying yourself at home!"
