The brunette pixie cut may be a drastic change when it comes to the length of her hair, but it is not the first time Lena has surprised fans with an edgy new look. The Not That Kind of Girl author has rocked everything from platinum blonde locks and a fringe to a neon green bob, and has rocked pixie cuts in the past.

It seems that Lena also provides style inspiration for her fellow A-listers, with pop star Taylor Swift recently admitting that she often turns to the director for advice. "Lena always has great websites and shops at great stores," Taylor told E!. "She always tells me her newest obsession, whether it's a new website a blog or a store. She's really good with that stuff."

It's been a busy few days for Lena, who headed to a premiere of It's Me, Hilary: The Man Who Drew Eloise, the film for which she was executive producer. The quirky star wowed in a striped blue and white shift dress and wore her then-bobbed hair in a sleek updo.
