The arrival of spring often sees celebrities opting for a fresh new look, and it seems that this season it's all about blue and green shades. Stars including Hilary Duff, Kylie Jenner and Jourdan Dunnhave all embraced the trend with dramatic makeovers seeing their tresses dyed pastel shades.

Hilary was one of the first celebrities to embrace the trend this season when she revealed a few weeks ago that she had dyed her famously blonde locks to a vibrant shade of blue. The former Lizzie McGuire star shocked fans when she unveiled her new look on Instagram. "@Ambahhh turned me into a mermaid last night ... love all u girls @riawnacapri @nikkilee901 @ninezeroone xx," she captioned a photo of herself having hew new tresses styled.
Meanwhile, Keeping up with the Kardashians star Kylie changed up her look just in time for the Coachella music festival. She revealed her vibrant turquoise locks on Instagram on Friday. "The road trip begins.." she simply captioned the image, before heading off to the star-studded music extravaganza. It's not the first time that the 17 year old has rocked the bold look - last year she opted for long tousled blue extensions, before chopping her hair into a bob complete with a black and blue dip dye.

Kylie was not the only fashionista to opt for a fresh new look ahead of the California-based festival. Model Jourdan Dunn also delighted her 1.1million followers when she revealed she had dyed her hair into pale grey and blue tones. She teased fans with a glimpse of her hair in a photo on Instagram, quipping that she had dyed it to match her pale grey shoes. The following photo posted gave fans a better view of her locks as she posed in a striking selfie. "Coachella Ready thank you @rendaattia," she captioned the candid snap.

While it's not the most common of looks, blue hair has remained a firm favourite amongst celebrities and the trend often re-emerges during the summer months. Katy Perry dazzled fans when she rocked a blue ponytail keeping some of her glossy locks black, while singer Demi Lovato chose a bright blue shade over all of her tresses for a show-stopping beauty look. Style icon Nicole Richie, who is renowned for her love of experimenting with colourful shades in her hair, chose a pale grey/blue tone which she often wore slicked back for ultimate red carpet glamour.
