Kylie Jenner goes blonde to celebrate 18th birthday

Kylie Jenner's family may have thrown her a glitzy bash for her 18th birthday, but the Keeping up with the Kardashians star also marked the milestone birthday with her own personal touch. Arriving for her party, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters debuted a drastic new blonde hairstyle, a stark contrast to her usually brunette tresses.

The reality TV star looked every inch a rising beauty icon with her new golden locks which she wore down in loose waves. Some fans noted that her hair seemed longer in length, prompting speculation that she also added extensions for a touch of extra glamour.

She complemented her new 'do with a sparkling beaded mini dress featuring geometric nude panelling, and a pair of strappy nude sandals, winning plaudits for her high fashion ensemble.

Kylie's new hair colour came as a surprise to fans, as two days before she had been pictured still rocking long black tresses in similar hues to sister Kendall, as well as their stylish siblings Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, in a selfie which Kim shared with her 42.1 million followers.

However, Kylie is no stranger to experimenting with her hair. Often sharing her new looks on social media, Kris and Caitlyn Jenner's daughter has tried everything from a bob and dyeing her hair blue to adding extensions and rocking a dip dye.

Kylie isn't the first of her family to try a bold new blonde hairstyle this year. Kim Kardashian caused a stir at Fashion Week in March when she stepped out with a new platinum blonde hair colour when she and husband Kanye West headed to the Balmain show.

The social media queen was spotted going back to the hairdressers a few weeks later for an even lighter hue, before eventually changing back to her trademark black locks.
