February 12, 2016

Kim Kardashian had jaws dropping to the floor as she made a triumphant return to the spotlight on Thursday for husband Kanye West's show at New York Fashion Week. The 35-year-old, who took time off to spend time with her two children, wowed as she debuted a platinum blonde style for the star-studded event.

Kim Kardashian debuted a blonde wig at New York Fashion Week

Looking every inch a style icon in an edgy fluffy coat and bejewelled gown from her husband's latest collection, Kim stole the show with her poker straight pale hairstyle that fell down to her stomach.

This is not the first time that Kim has experimented with blonde hues. She famously tried the look at Paris Fashion Week in 2015 when she dyed her locks a platinum shade – however, on this occasion, it seems the Keeping up with the Kardashians star decided to go for a temporary option, as she revealed on Instagram the eye-catching style was actually a wig.

Kim has gone blonde before

Sharing a photo of her look with her 60.2 million followers, Kim confessed she had turned to wig makers Tokyo for the striking style - the same company used by her younger sibling Kylie Jenner, who regularly steps out in Tokyo wigs.

It could be that the 18-year-old inspired Kim to try out one of the wigs for the glitzy night out – Kylie often speaks candidly about her love of wigs for instant makeovers without damaging her tresses.

Kylie Jenner often rocks Tokyo's wigs

"I've had to find ways to really try and take care of it and give it a rest," she confessed on her website, speaking about her hair. "I discovered this amazing wig guy, Tokyo, and together we create wigs. Wigs are just SO much easier because I change my mind so much and this way I'm not damaging my hair."
