Kate Hudson has been giving us all major short hair envy in recent weeks. First the 36-year-old chopped inches off her locks for a sleek shoulder-length style, and most recently she once again headed to the salon, this time opting for a short bob. Now, the actress has revealed that her glamorous makeovers have all been in preparation of an upcoming role.
Kate Hudson has been wowing fans with her shorter hairstyles
"In May I start shooting the Richard Pryor project. I'm supposed to have short hair and I wanted to get used to it," she explained to InStyle. "So I thought, 'I'm just going to chop it off so that I have a couple months to sort of get used to it and see how I feel'. Then we'll see what else is going to happen."
While her new look may be for work, the Kung Fu Panda 3 star admitted that she's loving rocking a shorter 'do – although she doesn't rule out growing her hair back to a longer length in the future.
"Oh yeah sure," she said when asked if she would go back to long hair. "Please, I've had long hair for, you know… I'll just keep everybody guessing."
The star revealed she's been trying out shorter lengths ahead of an upcoming role
It's not the first time Kate has opened up about her decision to try out new looks. After she unveiled her gorgeous new look at the Golden Globes, the star revealed her fearless approach to experimenting with her tresses.
"I cut my hair! I was ready to cut my hair off. Why not? It'll grow back," she explained during an appearance on Live! with Kelly and Michael.
She also added that she thinks "boys are worse than girls" when it comes to going for a spontaneous chop – but quipped that this isn’t necessarily the case with her four brothers.
"I actually think boys are worse than girls when it comes to haircuts," she said. "Except my brothers who all need haircuts and for some reason don't get them.
She quipped: "They just don't know how to groom themselves," she also joked.
