Jennifer Aniston has shared the best haircare tip Chris McMillan gave her

"His big advice is the less you mess with your hair, the better," she told Glamour's Lipstick. "Less is more, don't touch it, don't wash it every day, and just let it be."

Jennifer explained that Chris had initially suggested a low maintenance haircare routine in order to minimise the damage done to her tresses when they are being styled on set.

"That way, it saves up your hair's energy for when you have to go to work and be on camera and put it under the hot lights and driers and rollers," she said. "It's really just about doing less and using good products to maintain its health."

Chris has worked with Jennifer for over 20 years

Chris himself has previously spoken about working with Jennifer, and revealed what had prompted him to initially suggest she go for the now iconic 'Rachel' haircut.

"I first created 'The Rachel' back when I met Jennifer, which was more than 20 years ago," he told The Telegraph. "We have been friends a long time. Back then, Jennifer had really long hair with a fringe."

He added: "I told her she should grow her fringe out, get some highlights and just try something a bit different. We cut the length and added all in these layers to blend the bottom to the bangs – and the rest is history."

Jennifer recently spoke about the iconic look, joking that when Chris convinced her to get the style, he didn't think about how much work it would take her to maintain.

"He didn't think about, like, 'Oh she's going to have to do this herself – I'm having a great time being creative with this blow-dryer'," she quipped during an appearance on the Graham Norton Show. "Then leave me with the round brush and the hairdryer – and I don't know how to make it look like that!"
