Ariana Grande has once again given us major hair envy, this time debuting a bold new makeover. The 22-year-old star posted a striking selfie on Instagram in which she rocked ombré blonde tresses, a stark contrast to her trademark dark chocolate brown hair.

The Break Free hitmaker wowed her 74.3 million Instagram followers in the close-up snap which saw her wearing her hair down to show off the lighter blonde hues on the ends of her hair. She also showed off her style credentials, looking the epitome of laidback chic with a turquoise jumper as she sat in the car.
It's not the first time that Ariana has rocked a blonde hairstyle. She surprised fans by going platinum blonde for the cover of her new album Focus, and earlier this year topped beauty lists at the Grammys when she stepped out with her trademark ponytail with an ombré blonde finish.

Clearly pleased with her latest makeover, the star also took to Snapchat to flaunt her hairstyle, as she played around with the app's quirky dog filter. She captioned a short clip: "Still coughing… but alive, blonder and happy."

The coughing comes from a throat infection which Ariana has been suffering from – and the singer has been forced to take time off from her hectic schedule in order to recover.

She recently cancelled a performance set to take place in Portugal, sharing a heartfelt message to her fans to apologise, admitting that she had cried "for an hour" when doctors advised her not to perform.
"I'm deeply saddened to tell my babes in Portugal that I have to cancel my performance at Rock in Rio. (I've literally been crying over this for an hour)…" she explained in the post shared on her Instagram account. "I have a throat & sinus infection & my doctors have advised me not to sing for a few days. I promise to make it up to you, and give you the best show I'm capable of when I return. Again, I'm so sorry to the babes who were coming to see me. I love you with all my heart."
