Elle Fanning has given us major summer hair inspiration with her latest eye-catching hairstyle. The 18-year-old revealed on Tuesday that she has ditched her trademark blonde dresses in favour of pale pink hues, debuting her makeover on Instagram.

Dakota Fanning's younger sister shared a striking close-up photo in which she showed off her new rose-tinted tresses, wearing them down in a sleek blow-dry style. The Maleficent star also showed off her beauty credentials by rocking a matte pink lipstick that closely matched her new hair colour, and wore a white long-sleeved top to contrast the bold shade.
"Dusty [rose emoji] hair: @justjenda," she simply captioned the snap, revealing that she had turned to celebrity hair colourist Jenda Alcorn to help create the look.

This marks the first time that The Neon Demon actress has strayed from her usually blonde hair, which had become her trademark look. Although Elle has previously experimented with different shades from platinum blonde to honey tones, she had never debuted such a bold look.

She's not the only star to have embraced the pink hair trend this summer. 90210 star Tori Spelling shocked her fans when she ditched her iconic blonde locks – her trademark look in recent decades - in favour of a dip dyed pink hairstyle.

Admitting that she was "bored" of being blonde, the mother-of-four unveiled her makeover on Instagram. "The big summer reveal… The amazing @guy_tang turned this bored blonde into a beautiful #rose," she wrote in the photo's accompanying caption. "Thx my friend I [heart] it! Tag someone who should go #rose for the summer!"
While Tori's new look marked a major beauty change for the star, her decision to try a different hair colour didn't come as a complete surprise to her fans. Earlier that day, the actress had teased her followers on social media, sharing a black-and-white snap of herself posing with Guy post-makeover.
"Guess what color I did to my hair? After 20+ years as a blonde I am so excited I am doing something different!" she wrote. "Thank you @guy_tang for a fun day with a new look for the summer! #WhatColorDidIDo? #WaitTillTheReveal."
