Paris Jackson has gone for a very edgy new purple hairstyle

July 13, 2016

Paris Jackson is fearless when it comes to experimenting with her hair, and it seems that her latest makeover could be her boldest one yet. The 18-year-old surprised her fans when she revealed that she had dyed her pixie cut into a vibrant deep purple shade.

Paris, who is the daughter of the late Michael Jackson, took to Instagram to show off her new look, posing in a striking selfie with her hair styled into a slightly undone style for an effortlessly cool look.

It appears that the budding musician's drastic makeover was also a tribute to singer Prince, who tragically passed away earlier this year, as Paris referenced his iconic song Purple Rain as the inspiration behind her new 'do. "Side affects to dancing in the purple rain for too long include stained hair," she quipped in the photo's accompanying caption.

She later gave fans another glimpse of her eye-catching hairstyle when she headed to support boyfriend Michael Snoddy during one of his performances. Posing next to Michael's drum kit, which was set under purple lighting, Paris showed off her sense of humour by captioning the snap: "When your man's kit matches your hair."

Prince isn't the first singer to whom Paris has paid tribute with a beauty look. Earlier this year the young star dyed her hair a bright orange shade during her transition from brunette to blonde, and took the opportunity to recreate David Bowie's iconic Ziggy Stardust make-up.

Paris is renowned for experimenting with her hairstyles

"You gotta embrace the awkward phase from jet black to blonde where it's pretty much orange… ch ch ch ch changes," she wrote alongside the photo, shared on her Instagram account.

Paris is no stranger to changing up her hairstyle. Not only has she previously rocked various colours from red to orange, but she has also tried a wide variety of different looks including long brunette tresses, a fringed style, layered shoulder-length cuts and even a short platinum blonde pixie cut.
