Jen Atkin shares her secrets to cool girl hair in this week's HELLO! out now
"I began working with Sofia Vergara for the red carpet when she started on Modern Family," she tells HELLO!. "At the same time I also started to do more music video work with Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani and TV work for Nicole Richie, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.
"I knew Kim through friends and she asked me to do her for a magazine cover. That's when I met Khloé. She was co-hosting The X Factor and asked me to do her hair. I have worked with her every day for over six years and am in awe of how she has transformed into a butterfly. So if you recognise me, that's where you've seen me – slightly out of focus behind Khloé on TV."
Nowadays, Jen is a firm fixture as part of the Kardashian sisters' glam squad, working with them on Keeping up with the Kardashians- but she still finds time for her countless other projects.
She boasts an impressive number of A-list clients including the Kardashians
"On a trip I am with them 100 per cent, but when they are back in Los Angeles, they will have finished their workout by 8am or 9am and then I do their hair," she explains. "So from about 11am I'm pretty free to look after everyone else."
Hailed as a beauty guru by her legions of social media followers, Jen also revealed her best tip for great hair. "Use two shampoos," she reveals. "Clean on your roots to get rid of the grease, then Repair or Smooth on your ends. I do it because I exercise lots, so often only my scalp needs washing."
