Miles Teller caused an Internet storm this year when he debuted a new blonde hairstyle, with many fans sharing their bewilderment as his drastic makeover. Now, the 29-year-old has shown his good sense of humour by issuing a hilarious apology to his social media followers, as he reverts back to his trademark brown hair.

Miles Teller has redyed his hair a brown shade

The Fantastic Four actor posted a quirky selfie on Twitter, in which he can be seen pulling a mock-surprise face while getting his hair re-dyed at the salon.

"Dear Internet, I'm sorry I dyed my hair blonde," he captioned the tongue-in-cheek snap. "I never meant to hurt you. Please accept this apology." His fans were immediately on board, with many praising the star for laughing off the comments.

Miles had shocked fans when he hit the ESPYs red carpet in July, looking unrecognisable with his hair dyed an eye-catching shade of blonde, as well as bleaching his eyebrows to match. His legions of fans immediately took to social media to express their surprise at his bold new look, with many speculating that it could be for a new role.

Miles debuted a blonde hairstyle at the ESPYs earlier this year

While it was the first time Miles had officially debuted his new hair, it seems that he had made the change a few weeks before hitting the ESPYs. Girlfriend Keleigh Sperry had previously shared a sweet black-and-white photo of the couple on Instagram sharing a tender kiss during a spa day, where Miles appeared to already be rocking his new 'do.

It seems that the hairstyle was indeed purely for a role, as Miles has been sharing behind-the-scenes snaps of his time on set for new project Granite Mountain, a drama based on the elite crew of men who were battling a wildfire in Prescott, Arizona in 2013. Miles revealed earlier this week that filming for the project had wrapped up, and subsequently had his hair dyed back to brown just a few days later, suggesting that the makeover was always simply part of his role.
