Pastels, rose gold and even rainbow hair have been huge hair colour trends over the last couple of years, but now beauty lovers are obsessing over a new must-try shade.

Dubbed "blorange" - short for blood orange – it refers to hair that is a similar hue to the citrus fruit and combines tones of orange, ruby and crimson.

Georgia May Jagger was one of the first famous faces to try the trend in October at the hands of celebrity hairstylist Alex Brownsell. After rocking a bold red orange shade for a few weeks, Georgia May toned down the look by washing out the colour to allow her natural blonde to shine through.

Meanwhile TV presenter Billie JD Porter and Made in Chelsea star Jess Woodley have also trialled the trend after a visit to London-based salon Blue Tit London.

Now the look is set to take over social media in 2017, with more and more girls showing off their orange-toned locks.

The beauty of the citrus-inspired hue is that there is a variation to suit everyone, from punchy orange tones to softer peachy hues.

Like most coloured hair trends, it will require your hair to be lightened several shades if it isn't already blonde, and lots of upkeep through sulphate-free shampoos and conditioning treatments.
