Blake Lively debuted a new hairdo on the red carpet this week, as she attended a screening of her new film All I See is You. The actress was her usual incredible self, but gone were her signature blonde flowing locks, replaced instead with a chic, voluminous ‘lob’ (long bob). Fans were quick to speculate that the star had gone for the chop - but she had actually only gone for a temporary style, tucking up the ends of her hair to create the illusion of a shorter do. The very next day, her trademark long tresses were back in place as she stepped out in LA.

Blake's new hairstyle confused fans...

In honour of the screening, Blake stepped out in a beautiful two piece suit, consisting of a white blazer with rosette detail, and a pencil skirt with a thigh-high split. She wore a pair of statement gold sparkly high heels, and left her jewellery and bag at home, letting the white ensemble (and her new do’) do all the talking. Her make-up was typically flawless; the 30-year-old boasted a smooth, tanned base, and a statement matte red lip to bring a touch of Hollywood glamour to her ensemble.

We spoke to Amelia Evans, from the HOB Salon creative team, to get her expert opinion on Blake’s hair and how to achieve a faux ‘lob’:

"In my opinion Blake’s stylist has created a very clever illusion here by tonging the hair with a large barrel tong, and pinning underneath. This is a great way to turn heads and make a statement with a new shorter shape, without the full commitment of taking to the scissors!” Amelia told HELLO! Online.

"You can copy this look by asking your stylist for a wavy faux lob: its best on hair that is around four inches past the shoulders, ideally with collar-bone length layers at the front. They’ll tong the hair to create texture and movement (curly hair is easier to create the shape) before pinning with grips."

Very clever indeed! And a great way to change your hair for one night only, just like Blake...
