When it comes to Christmas parties, few hair looks are as sexy as straight, sleek locks. But while it might seem simple enough to create this look, there are a few tricks of the trade that make it even easier to follow in the footsteps of Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian by going for a straight and sleek look. We spoke to some of the U.K.'s top hair experts and asked for their tips on how to perfect this trend.
"Super straight, sleek hair is a very on trend hairstyle at the moment and is particularly great for those who want their face to a appear more elongated, as the less volume you have at the sides of the face, the slimmer your face will appear," Neil Barton, Goldwell Ambassador and Owner of Neil Barton Hairdressing, told us. "To create this look, it's best to firstly blow-dry the hair straight using a round brush and then use straighteners to achieve the super sleek look. When straightening the hair it's essential to always use a heat defence spray to protect the hair and once finished, to give the look a mirror-like shine, you can use a mist of shine spray."

"With celebrities like Kim Kardashian rocking this sleek, straight trend it is a style set to remain popular for a while," Jay Birmingham, celebrity stylist, and global extensionist explained. "The key to this look is achieving that mirror-like, glassy shine and keeping your hair blunt at the ends. Not only will this give the appearance of thicker hair, your hair will look healthier too. If you are channeling your inner Kim K, part your hair down the centre and secure behind your ears before adding some finishing spray and flicking your hair back over your shoulders." Perfection!
