It's not uncommon for salon appointments to take upwards of two hours - so for those leading nine to five lifestyles, the only time to squeeze in a cut, colour and blowdry is during precious evenings or weekends. Enter Chop Chop London: the new hair salon concept thought up by a team of hairstylists that recognise time is in short supply - and that hairdressers should cater for everybody.
"Chop Chop London is about inclusion, innovation and convenience," says Kaye Sotomi, one of the co-founders of the new concept. "It works in five simple ways: it is inclusive (a service that caters for diversity in all hair and does not distinguish between genders), speedy, convenient, affordable and great quality."
These unique 'pods' will be launching all over London
Enclosed in a portable 'pod' that houses modern styling stations, each Chop Chop appointment is only 20 minutes. Clients can choose from a menu of 24 styles - which include quick trims, layered cuts, dry styles and braiding - and all can be booked on an app with 'virtual queuing', so you can see how long the wait is for the next stylist. Even better, the brand is driven by diversity - all genders and hair types are welcome, and prices are the same for everyone (and no more than £20 per style).

Chop Chop's chief stylist is film and fashion hairdresser Sherman Hawthorne, who has specifically trained up the team of hairdressers to achieve results in record time - just as a session stylist would backstage at fashion week. Vidal Sassoon-trained and with celebrities such as Mel B and Naomi Campbell on his client list, his appointment book is sure to fill up fast.
The 'twisted rapunzel braid' is just one of the styles that will be on offer
The brand's first outpost will open in Old Street, London, on the 30th January, before launching across several locations in the capital - including train stations, shopping centres, gyms and airports. Now that's styling on the go!
