And if you're feeling similarly inspired to refresh your look, then brace yourself – because the ultimate spring hair 'do has been revealed, and it's taking Instagram by storm. This pastel-toned, intricately braided rose-inspired hairstyle is possible the prettiest up 'do we've ever seen – and despite it looking incredibly complicated, its creator has given a few tips on how you can recreate the look at home.
It's the prettiest way to style pastel – or any – coloured hair
It's the brainchild of Alison Valsamis, a hairstylist based in Fairfield, Connecticut, USA. She first posted a picture of her handiwork along with the caption: "This one has been in my brain a while. And today the sun is shining and I had the chance to sit down with my favourite wig and some new products. Styled using @biolage Agave Nectar Control Gel and Texturing Styling Spray."

And even better, she has revealed the secrets behind her handiwork to American beauty bible Allure. "To create these roses, I start with a small three-strand braid rolled up to serve as the centremost part," she told the magazine. "Next, I alternate between standard fishtails and Dutch fishtails pulled apart to create depth. I finish with a Dutch three-strand braid only pulled out on the outermost side to create the large petal feel of a rose in bloom."
She also added that it's important to work with small sections and braids to create multiple layers of depth and to be sure to always pull apart your braids from the top to the bottom, right to left. To prep the hair, she used a light gel to prevent flyaways plus a bit of texturising spray.

Hairstyles inspired by Valsamis's work are now popping up all over Instagram, and we're predicting it could become a serious bridal trend for 2018 alongside jumpsuits, wedding capes and vegan wedding food.
