If you're looking for a hairstyle switch-up, cutting in a fringe is one of the surest routes to a dramatic new look. And new mum Irina Shayk showed she's not afraid to abandon her classic supermodel-style cascading tresses in favour of something much edgier – and she looks fantastic. The Russian model, who has a one-year-old daughter with partner Bradley Cooper, debuted a new hairstyle on her Instagram page. Gone are her flowing, below-the-shoulder brunette locks. Instead, the 32-year-old is sporting a super-short blunt fringe and a jaw-length, choppy bob.

Obviously when you have a face like Irin's you could wear pretty much anything on your head and still look amazing. But her angular features mean the sharp look is particularly good for accentuating her sharp cheekbones and almond-shaped eyes. It's also much more practical for parenting – we've all experienced the pain when a baby just won't stop grabbing hold of your long hair!

In the picture uploaded to Instagram, Irina teamed the look with seriously glowing skin and natural eye and lip make up. She captioned the image "On my way..." and revealed she was heading out to Dsquared's Spring-Summer 2019 launch. Her followers were quick to heap their praise on her makeover, with one commenting "you look much better with this look, so cute" and another adding "Queen!" She also shared snaps from later on that evening, in which she was wearing a plunging black blazer with no top underneath, cropped black slim fit trousers and strappy black stilettos.

Of course Irina isn't the first celebrity to go for a dramatic chop – some stars test out the dramatic look by wearing wigs first, too. Demi Lovato did just this earlier this year, when she debuted an asymmetric bob on her Instagram page, which her hair stylist later revealed to be a wig. Cesar DeLeon Ramirez told Refinery29: "I also made her a short wig to play with whenever she has the urge to go short. I always suggest this as a solution for anyone wanting a short cut, but isn’t ready to commit just yet."
