When Dani Dyer surprised us all with a new look on Love Island the other night - showing off a new darker hairstyle - the British public scratched their heads wondering: ‘are the Love Island casts getting cheeky hair appointments while inside the villa?’.
An ITV representative confirmed to HELLO! that the show's female contestants were treated to some pampering, telling us: "All the girls had hair and beauty treatments in the villa a few days ago."

Past contestants have revealed what really happens on the hit ITV2 show. 2016’s winner Cara De La Hoyde revealed to celebrity journalist Kelly Allen: “It’s a glamorous show so they don’t want people looking crap all the time. I used to get told off by the producers. During the day, me and Olivia Buckland would walk around with no make up and our hair on top of our heads. They used to say ‘Cara, people are watching you on TV and they want to see glamorous, please put some make up on.’ But it was so hot it just melted off. Luckily we had Kady and Malin who were really good at doing make up. At the final they sent a glam squad to come in to help us look nice."

She also revealed that they do get pamper treats from time to time: “After a couple of weeks in, we had someone to come in and do our nails. The boys all got their hair cut because by then Nathan looked like Shaggy from Scooby Doo. They give you little treats. They had a massage the day before the final, too.”
Cara’s fellow contestant, Kady McDermott, also revealed to Cosmopolitan that nail appointments don’t happen as often as you might think, revealing: "We had our nails done once the whole time – I was there for 6 weeks! The boys got haircuts twice while we were there. We got our makeup done for the final which was nice. Superdrug sponsor the show, so they did send us loads of hair masks and face treatments.”

This year the gang have been kitted out with amazing products in their beauty room. From the Dyson hairdryer (who can forget when Dani blow-dried her lashes?!) to the ghd White Platinum Styler which Georgia used to keep her long hair looking amazingly chic.
Megan’s beachy hairstyle is largely thanks to Superdrug’s Natural Hairspray which she has been using to spruce up her blonde bob.

Another hair tool the girls have been reaching for is the Lee Stafford Chopstick Curling Tong - Laura gave us all the hair goals we needed when she rocked 80s corkscrew curls thanks to that £19.99 tool.
Dani has been keeping her tresses in tip-top condition thanks to The Wet Brush. This is a god send if your hair gets knotty and unmanageable when you’ve gotten out of the shower.
