Una Healy revealed a brand new look this week - the natural redhead took to Instagram to debut her new ash-blonde hair and racked up over a thousand comments from fans who loved the colour switch-up. Her fellow Saturdays bandmates also expressed their approval, with Mollie King writing: "GORGEOUS #BlondesHaveMoreFun," and Rochelle Humes joined in with the compliments, commenting on the snap: "Yassssssssss" along with four crown emojis.

Una, before her hair colour transformation

For her dramatic transformation, Una headed to Dublin-based, award-winning hairstylist Ceira Lambert's salon for her new 'do. Speaking to HELLO! the hair supremo said: "Una flew over to us on Tuesday afternoon and we spent two hours removing her old extensions and did a Keune Bond Fusion treatment to prepare her for the colour transformation the following day."

Arriving bright and early on Wednesday morning for the main eight-hour appointment, Ceira noted how Una was "excited about trying out a new look" but it didn't come as a surprise. "Una has been discussing going blonde with me for quite some time now and decided to just go for it," she said.

Una looked overjoyed with her new look

All in all, the whole process took around 10 hours to complete, and Una was "delighted with the colour" and relieved there was no damage to her hair.

"I know it sounds like a long time but when you are carefully blending five different colours together to give that natural look, it takes time." And as for the extensions, that's not a quick job, either! "A lot of other brands just put the colours in as they are, which gives that fake, stripy effect that we see with some hair extensions. We also apply our bonds so tiny and are extremely careful with sectioning the hair to protect the client's hair with no damage."

In total, this look would have cost Una up to €2,400 ( £2,100). "She's such a gorgeous person inside and out and we think the new 'do just adds to her fabulousness," Ceira said.

If she decides she wants to go back to red, that's no problem. Hair colourist Sarah added: "We would have to go through a pre-pigmentation process on her hair first so the results of the colour are even and to prevent it from fading."
