Britney Spears shares her weight loss and dieting secrets as she gears up for Las Vegas residency

As she prepares to embark on her first Las Vegas residency, Britney Spears has been working hard to ensure she looks her very best. The star, 31, has been photographed hitting the gym recently — and has got the body to prove it. The superstar singer showed off the fruits of her labour in a new photoshoot for Shape magazine, posing in a white bikini that shows off her athletic, toned figure. The mum-of-two also revealed the secrets behind her lithe body.

"I'm doing 90 minutes of yoga twice a week in addition to lots of cardio — hour-long sessions three times a week with my trainer, Tony Martinez," she told the publication.

"The (Vegas) performances won't be simple — they'll be a massive party from start to finish. And to pull the off, I have to be in top condition and running at full speed. "Britney has also been following the Nutrisystem dieting programme, having a shake for breakfast and lunch followed by a dinner of protein and vegetables.

That's meant she has had to stop herself from indulging in some of the sweet treats she makes for her sons, Sean and Jayden. "Dieting is tough… because my specialities are spaghetti, brownies and chocolate chip cookies," she said. "I try not to make those too often or I'll eat the whole bowl of dough!" she said.

Britney, who is now in a relationship with David Lucado, will reportedly start her Vegas stint in the autumn. It's thought initial concert dates and ticket sale information will be revealed in "about 20 days".
