Kate Upton has spoken candidly about body image
"Does it bother me being called curvy? A lot of things bother me," she told Women's Health. "But I guess I have the theory that I'd like to try to move things forward rather than worry about what people are calling me or thinking of me."
The Michigan-born model confessed she believes attitudes are changing in the industry, favouring a toned or muscular build rather than "skinny, skinny, skinny".
She continued: "And I do love that 'strong not skinny' is a movement now. When I first started out, it was just 'skinny, skinny, skinny'. And I want to be strong because I'm working 12-hour days and I want to do it with energy and happiness and I want to go out with my friends and enjoy my life."
Kate also revealed her favourite exercises when hitting the gym
Kate, who is renowned for her striking beauty and enviable curves, revealed that she trains hard to stay in shape, favouring a wide range of exercises to spice up her fitness routine.
"So I train about four times a week, mixing it up with light weights, lengthening body weight exercises, yoga, and boxing," she said. "I train regularly with David Kirsch, who's the person who really keeps me in shape."
Despite regularly hitting the gym, there is one moment during any workout which Kate admitted she always finds "so awkward".
"There's only one thing I hate about the gym," she said. "Looking at myself! I hate it but when you're weight training you have to do it to make sure you're doing the move properly. It's so awkward though."
