Ryan Reynolds is no stranger to staying in shape with the handsome actor regularly starring in action-packed films, but he has admitted that it is fatherhood which keeps him motivated to exercise. The 39-year-old revealed that he often goes hiking, taking along his and wife Blake Lively's baby daughter James.
Ryan Reynolds reveals he carries his daughter when he goes hiking
"I take her on hikes all the time. It's great!" he told Us Weekly. "She's outside all the time. One of the reasons I go hiking is for exercise, so having an 18lb baby on you is just a better workout!"
Blake gave fans a glimpse of her husband and daughter enjoying a scenic walk, posting a sweet photo on Instagram earlier this year in honour of Ryan's first Father's Day as a dad. In the touching snap, the actor is seen smiling as he poses while carrying little James.
The Deadpool star has previously opened up about the changes in his life since becoming a father. Just a few weeks after the happy couple welcomed the new arrival in December, an elated Ryan admitted that life was "great".

"It's amazing that you can be that exhausted and that happy at the same time," he told People magazine.
It does seem that little James has been keeping her parents up at night, with the actor later quipping that he believes his 11-month-old is "allergic to sleep".
"Our baby, in particular, is, we think, allergic to sleep," the Green Lantern star told Jimmy Fallon during an appearance on The Tonight Show. "We think that she thinks she's protecting us from the sleep monsters. Like, 'Oh I have to keep them up or the sleep monsters will get them."
It's no doubt been an emotional few weeks for Ryan, who announced the tragic loss of his father to Parkinson's disease in October. In a tweet, the Hollywood star shared a photo of his father with the message, "RIP Pops. James C. Reynolds. 1941-2015."
