Kylie Jenner proudly flaunted her scar on Instagram

In the candid snap, the 18-year-old gave fans a glimpse of her enviably long legs, showing off the scar on her thigh. "I love my scar," she proudly wrote in the caption.

Although it's only Kylie's legs that can be seen in the photo, the star appears to be sitting backstage and getting ready ahead of a photoshoot, wrapped up warm in a fluffy white dressing gown.

While Kylie has never attempted to hide the mark, most fans were surprised and took to the social media website to confess they had not noticed it before.

The beauty maestro had previously opened up about the scar, revealing that it was caused during a childhood mishap as she played hide and seek with her older sister Kendall.

Kylie revealed she got the scar after a childhood mishap during a game with Kendall

"When I was about five my sister and I were playing hide and seek and I hid inside this really tall enclosed gate," she told Celebuzz. "After a while when my sister didn't find me I had to climb up on this sharp pole sticking out from the gate.

"I slipped and the pole went into my leg. I tried pulling away to get the pole out but it just tore through my whole leg. It's smaller now though because I grew!"

Kylie is not the first star to open up about body confidence. Selena Gomez recently revealed the way she was trying to deal with body shamers and "be comfortable" after receiving cruel comments after she posed nude for the cover of her new album Revival.

"It hurt my feelings because I never experienced that before," the singer told InStyle. "But I didn't want [that] to be my story, so I said, 'I don't care what you think'… I'm learning that you can be comfortable and still look beautiful."

The Tell Me Something I Don't Know hitmaker also added that, like everyone else, she still has days where she struggles with body image issues. "Some days, I like what I see," she confessed. "Other days, I'm like, 'I'm not even going to bother.'"
